Built by Ari started with a group of Toronto students who had been building for the web since before it was a job.
We grew up making things for the internet: school projects, small business sites for family friends, a lot of code that never saw daylight. When local businesses started asking for help, we turned it into a studio.
The pitch has not changed since. Instead of buying a template and bending it into shape, we design and write the site for the business in front of us — modern code, honest pricing, and someone who picks up the phone after launch.
Working with us also means something to the people behind it: the studio is run by students and early-career developers in Toronto, and the money you spend goes to local people learning the trade properly.
We are small on purpose. Fewer projects at once means every site gets the attention a $10,000 agency build would get, at a price a café on Bloor can actually carry.
01 Principles
Four rules we do not break.
These are the promises behind every plan. If we ever break one, we would rather hear about it than have you quietly live with it.

No templates
Every layout is designed for the business it belongs to. Nothing is assembled from a theme library and recoloured.

No hostage code
Your domain, content, and code are yours. Ask for the files and you get them, with a short handover document explaining how they fit together.

No dark patterns
One price, quoted in writing before work starts. No auto-renew trap, no “call for pricing”, no upsell for accessibility.

No shortcuts on access
Every site is built to WCAG 2.2 AA and tested with a keyboard and a screen reader. Accessible sites are also faster and rank better — there is no trade-off.
02 Working together
What it is like to hire us.
Local, in person
We are in Toronto. Meetings happen at your shop, at a café, or on a call — whatever is least disruptive to your day.
Plain language
No jargon about “synergy” or “digital transformation”. If something is technical, we explain it once, clearly.
Still here after launch
Updates, backups, and renewals are handled by us. Most changes ship the same day, and you never need to learn a CMS.
